Congratulations Texas State McCoy College Net Impact Chapter!

Congratulations to Dr. Janet Hale and the Texas State McCoy College Net Impact Chapter on receiving the #1 Chapter of the Year Award at last week's annual international conference in Portland. From 289 chapters and over 20,000 members, only seven were selected as finalists from the professional, graduate and undergraduate chapters.

Texas State students Ani Aroian, Nicole Fisher and Natalie Rodriquez presented and answered questions from an international panel of judges. If you see Dr. Hale or her students in the hall, please congratulate them on their significant recognition!

5K Fundraiser This Weekend!!

Join us for a great cause!
Bobcats Leaving Out Violence, a student organization created in honor of McCoy College student Tiffanie Perry, will be hosting its first annual 5K fundraiser this weekend.


Where: Dell Diamond in Round Rock
When: Sunday, October 30th
Time: 9:00 a.m.


In addition to the 5K run, several survivors of domestic violence will have booths at the events, food and prizes will be available, and Tiffanie Perry's mother will be speaking. This is a wonderful opportunity to help support the fight against domestic violence so please join us if you can!

Thinking About Dropping a Course?

If you are thinking about dropping a course from your fall 2011 semester, remember to drop the course by the Automatic "W" Deadline - Monday, October 24th at 5 p.m. in order to receive a "W" on your transcript.

Interested in Becoming a McCoy College Ambassador?

If you are interested in becoming a McCoy College Ambassador, please complete the Self-Nomination Form. The nomination form will be active until Friday, October 21st. We are looking for undergraduate business students who can serve at least one years as a member of this student organization.


This program is specifically designed for engaged student leaders and provides opportunities to strenghthen leadership skills. Members particpate in bi-monthly meetings, a training retreat, and a profressional skills workshop. McCoy College Ambassadors interact with the Dean of McCoy College and serve as a student advisory council to her.

ATTENTION: Finance and Economics Majors

Need to shape up your resume and polish your interview skills??

The Department of Finance and Economics Advisory Council will conduct a resume review for Finance and Economics majors THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13. Council members will review the resumes and provide written feedback. Finance and Economics majors who wish to participate should bring three copies of their resume to the Finance and Economics Department (504 McCoy Hall) no later than 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 12. Students will be able to pick up their reviewed resumes in 504 McCoy Hall Friday, October 14 - Friday, October 21. After October 21, all resumes not picked up will be disposed of.

Finance and Economics majors will also have an opportunity to participate in several mock interviews beginning at 3:00 p.m. on October 13. Finance and Economics majors who wish to participate in the Mock Interviews should sign up in the Finance and Economics Department (504 McCoy Hall) no later than 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12. Students should check-in at least five minutes before their schedule interview time. Check-in will be in the Marketing Conference room (427 McCoy Hall) while the actual mock interviews will take place in the Minifie Academic Atrium (434 McCoy Hall). Business attire is appropriate and make sure you bring copies of your resume!

The day will conclude with a Q&A session between council members and members of the Financial Management Association and Student Economics Association from 5:30 - 6:30 in 126 McCoy on October 13. The Q&A session is open to all McCoy College students.
