Fall 2012 Student Teaching Round Up

All teacher education students who wish to student teach in Fall 2012 are required to attend at least one of the meeting session listed below in order to apply for student teaching. If you have any questions, please visit the Office of Educator Preparation website: www.education.txstate.edu/oep.


Monday, January 30th - 6:00 p.m. Alkek Teaching Theatre

Tuesday, January 31st - 6:00 p.m. Alkek Teaching Theatre

Wednesday, February 1st - 9:30 a.m. Avery Teaching Theatre (Round Rock Campus)

Wednesday, February 1st - 1:30 p.m. Avery Teaching Theatre (TRP Students Only)

Thursday, February 2nd - 9:30 a.m. Avery Teaching Theatre (Round Rock Campus)

Friday, February 3rd - 12:30 p.m. Alkek Teaching Theatre

Friday, February 3rd - 2:30 p.m. Out of Area Meeting (You must attend in addition if you want to student teach out of area)

Please come by the Advising Center in 115 McCoy Hall to purchase your tickets today. In Memory of Emmett Francis McCoy

Emmett Francis McCoy

1923-2012

 Mr. Emmett McCoy, retired chairman and chief executive of McCoy's Building Supply, passed away early Saturday morning, January 7, 2012.  Mr. McCoy was well recognized for his keen business acumen, hard work, dedication to ethical business practice, and significant contributions to enhancing the community.  The McCoy College of Business Administration was named after Mr. McCoy and his wife Miriam in 2004.  McCoy Hall was dedicated in their honor in 2006.  The McCoy College faculty, staff and students are grateful for Mr. McCoy's significant presence in the life of the college and for the legacy of his entrepreneurial spirit and integrity.

College Classroom Etiquette Tips for 2012

1. Don’t assume your laptop is a welcome guest
2. Turn it off (your cell phone, that is)
3. Monday morning blues (don't fall in this trap!)
4. Your prof’s name is not Jim until he says so
5. Dress appropriately
6. No such thing as “fashionably late”
7. Snack with discretion
8. Choose your seat wisely
9. No bells or whistles
10. Avoid monopolizing your professor’s time
11. No video or recording unless approved in advance
12. Treat your T.A. with courtesy
