GSP Review Sessions
Every Monday and Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in ASB-N 108
Students majoring in Mass Communication or Health Administration
are required to pass the Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation Exam. The Writing
Center offers a review session every week to help students take on the GSP
challenge. The review sessions are also a great review of basic grammar and
punctuation for all students.
All events are free and do
not require registration.
In addition to the events listed above, the Writing Center
provides individual counseling in writing for Texas State students at any level
of study in any discipline. Appointments are available in San Marcos, online,

The presentation will be followed by a networking reception and is open to all students, faculty and staff.

AITP National Collegiate Conference
Here’s a shout out
to the Texas State students who competed in St. Louis this past weekend at the
2013 AITP National Collegiate Conference!
Several AITP students received Honorable Mention in the following areas:
Spencer Miller and Lauren Ogle in Database Design, Nathan Ferguson and Weston Baxter in MS Office and Matthew Niemeyer in Network Design.
Weston Baxter and
Govanna Mata won 1st place in Business Analytics out of 21 teams, Spencer
Miller and Elmer Huang won 1st place in Visual Studio .NET out of 45
teams, and
Able Carmona
won 3rd place in Enterprise Systems out of 29 teams!!
Texas State
University also won the coveted Top Monkey Award which is awarded based on a
formula of distance traveled, number of students attending, and number of
competitions attempted. We had 34 students travel 944 miles and compete in 90+
contests! Great job!!
