FMA visits the "Windy City"!!

Texas State's Financial Management Association (FMA) visited Chicago over Spring Break for the Finance Leaders' Conference. During this time, students were able to network with finance professionals and fellow FMA members as well as gain valuable information on various finance career paths.

Some of the FMA students who are also part of Beta Gamma Sigma brought their Centennial mascot, better known as the "wise owl" named after Professor Elwell. Here are a couple of fun pictures from their trip in Chicago.

Summer and Fall Registration

If you have not already met with your academic advisor, now is the time to schedule an advising appointment. During your advising appointment you can talk about what classes you should take in the summer and in the fall semester. You can schedule an appointment by calling 512.245.1993 or by stopping by the advising center in 115 McCoy Hall.

Registration for SUMMER starts March 26th - April 5th and FALL registration starts April 9th - 25th. Make sure to check your registration eligibility on CATSWEB for your specific access times and holds.

SPRING JOB & INTERNSHIP FAIR

If you have not had your resume critiqued before, you still have time to do so before the Spring Job & Internship Fair. Career Services is hosting "Rock Yo Resume" on March 26th and 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Quad. So if you have a moment in between classes, you can stop by and counselors will critique your resume on the spot!!

Tip: Remember to dress business professional and bring your resume to give to future employers!

Informational Interview Phone Bank

Would you like a chance to talk with major companies that will provide you with valuable information that can help you land a job after graduation? If so, come by and check out the informational interview phone bank being held by Texas State University Career Services in conjunction with the McCoy College of Business Administration.

An informational phone bank interview allows you to be the one interviewing the company rather than having them interview you. This allows for an opportunity to ask questions and gain general knowledge about participating companies. Informational phone interviews do not lead to employment but are designed to help you understand what companies are looking for when you do apply for a job.

The informational interview phone bank will take place on Friday, March 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hill House. If you are interested in participating in the Informational Interview Phone Bank, you must pre-register here.
