Vice President of Living Well, Coca-Cola North America to Speak in McCoy


As the Vice President of Living Well, Coca-Cola North America, Celeste Bottorff is responsible for building the strategic corporate reputation framework for Coca-Cola North America. She seeks the counsel of the country's leading health officials, policy makers, and opinion shapers. In this capacity, Celeste’s work is instrumental in designing and communicating the Company’s vision for how it delivers on its promise to consumers all across the country that Coca-Cola can be counted to make a positive difference in their lives.


Celeste began her marketing career as a marketing and technology Strategist at McKinsey & Co. in 1983 after earning her Master’s degree from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. She distinguished herself there by helping clients hone in on strategic imperatives and building game-changing business plans that resulted in successful achievement of business goals.

Graciela Tiscareno-Sato, Author of Latinnovating: Green American Jobs and the Latinos Creating Them will present on "Entrepreneurial Successes in the Green Economy: Role Models and Innovations from the Latino Community".

Graciela TiscareƱo-Sato is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Gracefully Global Group, LLC consulting with businesses seeking marketing and communications excellence. Previously she led the global Green Enterprise Initiative at Munich, Germany-headquartered Siemens Enterprise Networks. There she helped enterprises understand the economic and environmental value of collaboration technologies. Once adopted, these solutions dramatically reduced corporations’ real estate needs, energy needs, employee commutes and their overall carbon footprints.


Ms. TiscareƱo-Sato’s corporate sustainability experience, entrepreneurial drive and her desire to communicate compelling stories of innovation and leadership from the Latino community to benefit the planet.

Important changes in Teacher Certifcation requirements

Do you have an overall GPA of at least 2.75?  If your major - or future major -  is Management with Teacher Certification, it actually has to be...

The Office of Educator Preparation has recently announced a number of changes in the admission and graduation requirements for students seeking teacher certification.   You can educate yourself on these changes by visiting the Office of Educator Preparation website, www.education.txstate.edu/oep.

In addition to visiting the website, we recommend scheduling an academic advising appointment soon to discuss how the changes might affect you.  You can schedule an appointment by calling our office at 512-245-1993 or stopping by 115 McCoy Hall.

News for students pursuing Human Resources Concentration

MGT 4390G (Cross Cultural Human Relations) can now be used to satisfy one of the Restricted Advanced Business Electives required by the Management with Human Resources Concentration degree plan.

If you are attempting to complete the HR Concentration in Summer 2011 or over Summer 2011 and Fall 2011, this may be good news for you since MGT 4390G is on the list of courses planned at this time for the Summer I session.  *The summer and fall schedules are tentative and will not be official until posted on CATSWEB prior to Registration.

IMPORTANT Materials to Bring:
Tax Information (W-2 Forms, 1099, 1098, etc.)
Social Security cards for everyone listed on the return
Proof of Identity (i.e. drivers license)
